| | | What is your favorite song by Alanis Morissette and why? | | My all time favorite Alanis Morissette song is the hidden track on her jagged little pill album. I cant remember the name of it but it goes "I went to your house walked up the stairs opened your door without ringing the bell....". I like the lyrics and the melody. I love how there is no background music and just her amazingly clear voice. It was never like a huge hit or anything like "one hand in my pocket" and others of hers but it should have been its awesome! For anyone who has never heard of this song its about a girl who goes to her lovers house and is so happy and in love and then finds a letter from another girl to him about how much that girl loves him etc and then at the end shes so sad. Their reps, Dvora Vener and Meredith O'Sullivan, tell PEOPLE in a joint statement, "Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement."They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter."Morissette, 32, and Reynolds, 30, had previously split in June, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE at the time, but within weeks they were seen walking in Vancouver, holding hands in L.A. and, on Oct. 1, kissing in New York City.
The singer and the Smokin' Aces actor, both Canadian-born, met in 2002 and dated for two years before becoming engaged in 2004.

I didn't catch the episode tonight to see if she was on. She is playing Nancy's (the lead character) OBGYN. I dunno, maybe i am just weird...i am such a huge alanis fan it is just exciting to see her name out and about in the world again.now if she would just make another album...........anyone out there have any inside information? | |
| | Alanis a largely under-rated singer and songwriter! | | I look today at the people who are popular and selling well,all the pop singers today,the Britney Spears,Mandy Moores,Jessica Simpson,you name them and none of them have the presence,personality nor talent of Alanis Morissette.In fact you could put all of them together and they would still fall way short of Alanis.In my view Alanis is the female pop/rock singer of the century.She is superior to any of the current singers in any area you choose, her voice is unique and she sings with a passion that come from the fact that she writes all her material and usually from a deep personal place.Alanis uses words in her song that I hev never heard before or even knew could be used and sound so cool.
The only album that I think she got full credit for was Jagged Little Pill,which launched her on the world scene as an accomplished singer and songwriter and went on rightly to sell over 40 million worldwide.The songs were so well crafted to show her depth and abilities that it could be termed a perfect album expressing every emotion possible from angst to unrequieted love.The next album though was not so good but only because this time she failed to meet the high standards she had set with... | |

It has been a long time since I've been to a concert, and I forgot how much fun it can be. My friend and I went. We had good seats, kind of far away, but with a direct view of the stage, and we could see everything.I've always wanted to see Alanis in concert, and this is the first time she has come near me- well, over an hour away, but worth the drive?So do you like concerts?
