Talk about the intriguing world of Twisted Sister Records!| Truly twisted sister here! | | OK, so it's Sat. am and I am still really, really down over yesterday's turmoil (that's another discussion!), plus I have the ghost of yesterday's awful headache. Yucky way to begin the weekend! I was clearing things off the coffee table, when I tried to place a tray on its accustomed shelf, it wouldn't sit level. When I removed the offending object, it turned out to be a head cover that my SIL's well-meaning sister had bought when SIL was diagnosed with brain cancer last year, along with a white kuffee. Neither has ever been worn, and my sense of silly was soon tickled, hence this photo. When I looked in the mirror, it reminded me of an old joke: "If you had a six-inch pen-is growing out of the middle of your forehead, how many inches would you be able to see?" (scroll down for answer)Answer:
"None, because the balls would be hanging in your eyes!"My sense of humor to the rescue, once again!
Have a great weekend! | |
| | My Angry Song...What's Yours? | | I'm not, normally, an angry person but every now and then one just needs to blow off some steam.[em]rasp[/em]So I..have an angry song. I've used this song for years...since the mid 90's, I guess...and every now and then I pull it out and play it to release tension. | | Are there any 80s Hair metal fans anymore? | | I grew up during the 80s and was really into the hair bands like Poison, Slaughter, Dokken, Motley Crue, etcetera. Is anyone else out there still listening to hair metal anymore or has it mostly gone the way of the dinosaur?

1)In my dreams - Dokken
2)Rhythm of love - Scorpions
3)Girls, girls, girls - Motley Crue
4)Bang - Gorky Park
5)Battle stations - Winger
6)We're not gonna take it - Twisted Sister
7)Get it on - Kingdom Come
8)Heaven Tonight - Yngwie Malmsteen
9)Someone just like you - Bang Tango
10)Scared - Dangerous Toysnse of humor to the rescue, once again!

| | How Many Parents Here Have Seen The Movie Strange Land?????? | | I was at another discussion that made me think of this. If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend that you do. But I recommend you watch it when your kids are not around, it is an extremely adult content movie. It will scare you enough to watch your child's every single move they make on the internet. I saw it about 8 years ago and it left a lasting impression on me.It's about a man who visits chatrooms and gets kids and adults to meet him. He tortures them in ways most people would never want to think about. He sewed their mouths and eyes closed. He peirced them all over thier bodies. I'm sure you get the picture. So how closly do you watch your kids while they are on the net. | |
| | Which Pop artist could best define the culture of the 80's to you? | | To me there were so many new artist introduced to the scene just in the "pop" category its hard to decide, but when I do think of 80's music, I would have to say Michael Jackson. He was the only artist that kept his music in the top-ten for the entire decade. Michael influenced fashion trends with the leather outfit he wore in the "Thriller" and "Billie Jean" videos, he had most of the music artist and public wearing "Jeri Curls" (I even saw Asians with Jeri Curls), he taught the world how to dance and he was loved by almost every race and culture. I swore for a while in 1984 and 1985 I saw people in the clubs wearing a single glove with rhinestones embedded in it. Unfortunately his fame went to his head and he ended up doing some questionable things. Be that as it may, out of all the great artist I listened to on the radio or on 'cassette tapes' (kids, ask your mommy about those) it seem like Michael Jackson was on. In fact, when I listen to Paul McCartney, Michael was singing too, when I would even listen to Twisted Sister, I can swear I heard Michael in the background. Who do you think was the defining 80's pop artist? | |
| | Down the rabbithole again....... | | Here's a classic entry in the "HUH?" category:On a recent evening, I needed to get out of the house a bit after midnight. I let the other "responsible" party in the house know I was leaving. He expressed regret that he couldn't accompany me because he had to work the next day. Fair enough, see ya in the daylight, and I split.I spent several hours at the local racino, having scattered small wins and brief, random social interactions with other solitary souls. I got home around 5 am, was kind of startled to find Good Buddy just finishing up a play money poker tournament. He proudly announced that he came in 20- something in a field of 3500. I was offended, but my only response was to point out that play money tournaments yield nothing but the time spent, and can hurt your money game besides. I suggested he might want to consider sleeping at night, and trying am freerolls. I thought I was fairly restrained, considering he blew me off so he could go to bed!Now I find out, 3 days later, he's been holding a grudge about this the whole time. I made the mistake of revealing that yet another of his wife's nasty cracks about me pissed me off, and he jumps in my face and starts... | |
